Flexible Packaging and Bottle Mechanic 2nd Shift

About the role

Perform electrical and mechanical corrective and preventative maintenance on liquid filling (bottle filling) equipment, manufacturing equipment, and systems including wiring, power distribution, servo and stepper controls, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Work with the Production Manager and other Mechanics to maximize efficiency of production lines.

Responsibilities

• Perform setups, breakdowns, repairs, preventive maintenance, and improvements on machines.
• Ensure instructions provided in Work Orders are followed (e.g., correct codes, box counts, palletizing instructions) by periodically monitoring each line.
• Sign off on job start-ups to ensure setups accurately match the proper components with the work order.
• Document major repairs or adjustments in the Maintenance log book.
• Review production paperwork for accuracy.
• Ensure proper components are supplied to production lines and staged for the next shift or job.
• Remove components from prior jobs from the production floor during breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot machine malfunctions to maintain maximum production and quality.
• Communicate with supervisors, operators, and other mechanics.
• Create legible written records.
• Verify product produced and labeled accurately.
• Follow applicable OSHA safety regulations and understand FDA regulations related to operations and nonconformance consequences.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience filling liquids into bottles (a plus).
• Electrical knowledge: 24V to 480V, single phase and three phase.
• Two or more years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment, or military equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints (electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic).
• Familiarity with contract or third-party manufacturing (beneficial).
• Critical thinking and decision-making capabilities.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Self-motivated, self-managed, with a high degree of honesty and integrity.

Pay

USD $28.00 - USD $45.00 per hour.
