About the role

The Mechanic performs electrical and mechanical corrective and preventative maintenance on liquid filling (bottle filling) equipment, manufacturing equipment, and systems, including wiring, power distribution, servo and stepper controls, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Production Manager and other Mechanics to maximize efficiency of production lines.
  • Perform setups, breakdowns, repairs, preventive maintenance, and improvements on machines.
  • Ensure instructions provided in Work Orders are followed by periodically monitoring each line (e.g., correct codes, box counts, palletizing instructions).
  • Sign off on job start-ups to ensure setups accurately match the proper components with the work order.
  • Document major repairs or adjustments in the Maintenance log book.
  • Review production paperwork for accuracy.
  • Ensure proper components are supplied to production lines and staged for the next shift/job.
  • Remove components from prior jobs from the production floor during breakdowns.
  • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Communicate with supervisors, operators, and other mechanics.
  • Create legible written records.
  • Verify product produced and labeled accurately.
  • Follow applicable OSHA safety regulations.
  • Understand FDA regulations related to operations and consequences of nonconformance.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Experience filling liquids into bottles (a plus).
  • Experience with electrical systems (24V to 480V, single-phase and three-phase).
  • Two or more years of troubleshooting and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment, or military equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints (electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic).
  • Familiarity with contract or third-party manufacturing (beneficial).
  • Critical thinking and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Self-motivated and self-managed with a high degree of honesty and integrity.

Pay

USD $28.00 - USD $45.00 per hour.
