Flexible Babysitter

About the role

Jovie is seeking experienced caregivers to assist with evening and weekend care for local families. Caregivers will work 3+ hours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, typically from 4 PM to Midnight. Responsibilities include meal preparation, engaging in various activities, and ensuring a safe environment for children.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation and provision
• Engaging in arts and crafts, board/card games, baking, and outdoor play
• Bedtime routines
• Staying with children until parents return home

Requirements

• 3 references, 2 from working with children
• Experience with special needs (a plus)
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification
• Available to work at least 2 shifts per week (Friday through Sunday from 4 PM to Midnight)

Qualifications

• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
• Flexible schedule to accommodate school or other commitments

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Patience and empathy towards children

Benefits

• Hourly wage: $16.50-$18

Pay

• $16.50 - $18 per hour

Schedule

• Workdays: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays

• 15-20 miles from home
• Direct communication with manager for skill development and meeting new families

About you

• Personal experience caring for younger siblings (considered great experience)
• Willingness to work one-on-one with children in their home
• Desire to prioritize safety above all else
• Available to work at least 2 shifts per week

Working Conditions and Requirements

• Active, kid-centric environment
• May involve outdoor play depending on weather conditions
• Regular lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, and pushing required
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds safely
• Requires frequent movement between sitting and standing positions
• May need to react quickly to certain situations and handle emergent situations calmly and effectively
