Flexible Babysitter

About the role

Jovie is seeking experienced caregivers to provide evening and weekend babysitting for local families. The gig is flexible, typically 3 + hours per shift on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between 4 p.m. and midnight. Care may include preparing meals, arts and crafts, board/card games, baking, outdoor play, bedtime routines, and staying with the children until parents return.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and provide meals for the children.
• Engage children in activities such as arts and crafts, board/card games, baking, and outdoor play.
• Follow bedtime routines and ensure children are safe until parents arrive.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in the family home.
• Communicate directly with the manager to learn new skills and meet new families.

Compensation

Hourly wage: $16 – $18 per hour.

Requirements

• Provide three references, at least two from previous childcare experience.
• Personal experience caring for younger siblings or similar is valued.
• Relevant childcare experience (special‑needs experience a plus).
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Available for at least two shifts per week (Friday‑Sunday, 4 p.m. – midnight).
• Commit to following CDC COVID‑19 guidelines and best hygiene practices.

Schedule

Friday through Sunday, 4 p.m. – midnight; minimum of two shifts per week, each shift typically 3 + hours.
