Flex Security Officer

About the role

Securitas Security is hiring Full Time & Part Time Flex Security Officers in the metro east ranging from Godfrey, Highland, Edwardsville, Cahokia Heights, & Sauget, IL. The wage range is $17.00-$18.50/hr.

Responsibilities

• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Ensure that all post orders are followed and assigned rounds are completed.
• Provide customer service and information to the client’s employees and guests.
• Utilize technology devices throughout the shift.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Position is about 75% - 80% standing / walking. Can be up to 75% - 80% of the time outside in all weather (except lightning, hail, and tornado).
• Conduct tours of the property.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old to qualify for an Illinois PERC Security Officer License.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma, GED, or willing to complete a GED program.
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to walk on uneven terrain and walk up / down flights of stairs / ladders.
• Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record needed (All our positions will be driver certified).
• Must have reliable transportation (Public transportation is not available at most work site locations).
• Must have reliable working communication device (cell phone).
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
• Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills a plus.

Pay

$17.00-$18.50/hr

Schedule

Schedules will consist of filling call-offs, covering requested days off, vacation requests, and extra coverage for special assignments. Majority of these shifts will be 2nd shift (2PM - 10PM) and / or 3rd shift (10PM - 6AM).
