About the role

The Avera Oahe Manor Worker Type PRN is a flexible position available for rotating days, evenings, nights, and weekends. This role offers a flat rate of $35.00/hr and requires working at least 624 hours per calendar year, with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Performs professional nursing care to residents, according to needs and is responsible for direct supervision of nursing activities of the facility.
  • Serves as a core member of the interdisciplinary client care team and has the necessary authority to assess, plan, evaluate, and teach in patient situations.
  • Carrries out administrative responsibilities as delegated by the Director of Nursing or the LTC Clinical Coordinator.
  • Performs daily rounds and communicates to appropriate team members during the shift.
  • Contacts providers, establishes good working relationships, and maintains ongoing information exchange.
  • Administers routine medications, documents, and makes decisions about the use of prn medications.
  • Obtains specimens for lab tests as ordered.
  • Consistently & thoroughly completes documentation in a timely manner, including documentation of all medications and treatments administered.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and initiates, participates, and coordinates additional meetings as necessary to address crisis matters and provide support for team members.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement, environmental safety, and infection control standards.
  • Initiates resident referrals, transfers, and discharges.
  • Ensures that assigned CNAs/CMAs staff understand each resident's plan of care.
  • Assists in training and education of nursing and nursing support staff, participates in QAPI activities.
  • Maintains supplies and equipment in adequate numbers and working order following infection control policies.
  • Provides resident and family education by direct instruction, utilizing interdisciplinary team members or appropriate community resources.

Requirements

The individual must be able to work the hours specified and have visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Board of Nursing Active license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience.

Skills

Must be able to work the hours specified and have visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Benefits

Flexible hours; 6:00am-6:30pm or 6:00pm-6:30am.

Pay

Flat rate of $35.00/hr.

Schedule

Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends.
