Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on vehicles including: brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions
- Electrical components, fluid systems, filters, batteries, and hoses
- Conduct preventive maintenance (PMs), DOT inspections, and diagnostic troubleshooting
- Maintain detailed service records, complete accurate work orders, and track parts usage
- Support emergency roadside service calls when needed
- Clean vehicles and maintain the shop environment
- Safely move vehicles around the yard or between work areas
- Repair and maintain shop tools and equipment
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working with diesel, gas, electric, or CNG vehicles
- Comfortable using hand tools and diagnostics software
- Strong problem solver who thrives both independently and on a team
- Valid driver's license and willingness to obtain a CDL (training provided)
- Willingness to build a personal mechanic tool set
- Eager to grow skills through ASE testing (support provided)
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Vocational or technical training in vehicle repair
- Class B CDL with passenger endorsement (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
- ASE Certifications
- Experience performing DOT inspections and vehicle safety assessments
- Military experience, prior fleet maintenance, or previous bus/large vehicle repair a plus

- ASE incentive of $0.25/hour for each relevant ASE obtained (study materials and exams paid)

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Maintenance shop environment with dust, dirt, grease, and various weather exposure
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and work in crouched or prone positions beneath vehicles
- This is a safety-sensitive position and subject to DOT drug testing, including cannabis
