Fleet Supervisor

This is a full-time position working onsite in Madison, WI.

Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM

Responsibilities

• Independently coordinates and schedules a fleet of drivers according to customer requests in compliance with company rules and DOT regulations to maximize operational performance and customer satisfaction.
• Supervises activities of drivers and maintains daily communication with the customer on areas impacting operational performance.
• Coaches and counsels drivers in such areas as safety, performance, productivity and morale.
• Supervises all activities of drivers; directs and schedules driver work.
• Plans, assigns, and distributes daily work while coordinating loads, equipment and backhauls to achieve maximum utilization of the fleet.
• Develops daily delivery plan utilizing equipment, manpower and other resources to ensure an effective, efficient operation.
• Organizes, plans and implements transportation solutions for assigned customers that utilize the best cost option to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Identifies and resolves delivery and scheduling problems through timely communication with customers, drivers, vendors and other Ruan locations.
• Performs administrative functions to include payroll, billing, driver counseling and post-accident reviews.
• Participates in the review and analysis of operating performance.
• Properly uses the Ruan transportation management systems to ensure all required operational data is accurately captured in a near real-time manner.
• Monitors and promotes safety and compliance with company policies and federal, state and local regulations in all areas of the operation.
