About the Employer

Coachella Valley Unified School District covers more than 1,200 square miles of mostly rural desert terrain, serving the communities of Coachella, Thermal, Mecca, Oasis, Indio, and the Salton Sea. About the Role

Under the direction of the Director of Transportation, oversee the day-to-day operations of the Transportation Department in the areas of vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair. Ensure timely repairs to District vehicles and equipment, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Transportation Department in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate assigned personnel.
• Maintain adequate stock levels of parts and supplies.
• Maintain records and prepare reports.
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in automotive, truck, and bus maintenance and repair, including at least two years of supervisory experience.
• Valid Driver’s License (Class B or higher).
• Possession or ability to obtain a valid California Driver’s license within six months of employment.
• TB Test Clearance.
• Air Brake Endorsement.
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.

Pay

Monthly salary range: $9,413.00 - $12,010.00.

Schedule

12 months per year, 8 hours per day. Full-time employment.
