Responsibilities

  • Manage reactive and preventative maintenance tasks within the Truck Shop.
  • Maintain outstanding customer service while assisting with the supervision of mechanics, operating software programs, and communicating with the Parts Department.
  • Successfully manage customer requests by determining the most effective means of meeting customer needs and coordinating the appropriate action(s).
  • Greet customers and assist them with their needs by determining the most effective method of resolution and handling or arranging the appropriate response.
  • Answer incoming customer calls and assist them with their needs by determining the most effective method of resolution and handling or arranging the appropriate response.
  • Prioritize both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Maintain interdepartmental communications to ensure timely staging of equipment for maintenance needs.
  • Maintain equipment status for assets in Fleet Services.
  • Communicate regularly with Leads and Supervisors when changes to the daily workload occur due to outside influences.
  • Communicate with Dispatch to validate their equipment needs are met.
  • Communicate with outside vendors to monitor repair status of subbed and/or warranty work.
  • Assist with daily administrative duties in relation to department operating systems.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years in an administrative/support role or equivalent experience/education.
  • Strong interpersonal skills via telephone.
  • Ability to remain calm in a stressful work environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to process, interpret, and communicate (verbal and written) information to co-workers and customers in a professional manner.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well alone or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to operate a personal computer with knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong typing and data entry skills; comfort with office equipment is required.
  • Knowledge of transportation operations, maintenance, and DOT regulations is a plus.
  • Valid driver license with a clean driving record.
