About the role
The Fleet Safety Coordinator establishes compliant record retention processes for the company’s Fleet Safety function, serves as the central point for documentation and information flow within the department, and trains users on automated storage systems (Driver Management On-Line, Safety Portal, and SAP).
Responsibilities
- Monitor Driver Qualification files in the Driver Management On-Line Program for accuracy.
- Audit new DQ files to ensure completion prior to approval.
- Review DOT Drug & Alcohol testing documentation to ensure compliance.
- Compile Key Point Indicator (KPI) Report.
- Maintain vehicle accident registers.
- Order MVRs and criminal background checks as needed.
- Requisition and receive invoices to ensure timely payment of all Fleet Safety accounts.
- Research and apply information for Annual Driver Safety Awards and ensure each driver receives their entitlements.
- Participate in monthly budget meetings and key journal entries as needed.
- Assist locations with questions pertaining to DOT drug and alcohol testing policies and procedures.
- Handle very confidential information with discretion; disclosure would have serious consequences.
Skills
- Proficient in Excel.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of SAP and Driver Management On-Line systems.
- Intermediate computer skills, including advanced spreadsheet and word processing functions.
- Ability to read and interpret policy/procedure manuals, write reports, and correspond professionally.
- Ability to calculate percentages and volumes.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram-based instructions and solve problems involving several concrete variables.
- Customer focus with daily internal and external contact to discuss methods, procedures, and resolve mutual problems.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree typically required.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience.
