Purpose of Position
The Fleet Reliability Specialist ensures the accuracy, completeness, and standardization of aircraft maintenance fault data within the Fault Data Management (FDM) process. This role reviews, corrects, and enters fault attributes, escalates discrepancies, and supports aircraft troubleshooting and reliability analysis.
Tasks And Responsibilities
- Performs detailed review of maintenance fault data to ensure accurate reflection of aircraft technical condition and failure context.
- Reviews, corrects, and/or enters associated fault attributes including ATA chapter, failure mode, subject, position, phase of flight, abnormal procedures, CAS messages, driving fault, cannot duplicate status, final fix, failure notes, etc.
- Updates and corrects fault data within FDM, Maintenix, or associated systems as required.
- Escalates complex discrepancies to Technical Services Managers or subject matter experts.
- Applies standardized data structures and coding practices across fleets and data attributes.
- Provides feedback to data quality and upstream inputs when data limitations impact reliability analysis.
- Maintains efficient workflow to support timely completion of data validation.
- Aids in troubleshooting aircraft with repeat faults as required.
- Aids in data and aircraft research into repeat faults as required.
Education
High School Certifications and Licenses; 2-4 years of experience; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field preferred; FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred.
