Fleet & Mill Maintenance Technician

Livestock Nutrition Center specializes in blending customized rations, supplements, and premixes to meet the specific nutritional needs of livestock producers. Our experienced sales staff and nutritionists work directly with producers to design feeding programs tailored to their unique management, performance objectives, and feeding practices.

About the Role

The Fleet & Mill Maintenance Technician is responsible for ongoing and preventative maintenance of our fleet and feed mill(s). This full-time mechanic reports directly to the Location Facility Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs on a fleet of 12-15 trucks and trailers, as well as feed mill equipment
• Conduct preventative maintenance for both fleet and feed mill(s)
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures
• Troubleshoot and resolve repair issues
• Communicate maintenance needs and improvement plans
• Maintain inventory of parts and tools
• Ensure compliance with safety policies
• Assist with production needs as required
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

Requirements

• Diesel certificate with a minimum of 3+ years of related experience and/or training
• Proven mechanical repair and preventative maintenance skills
• Welding and/or fabrication experience
• Ability to manage spare parts inventory and associated costs
• Valid Driver’s License (CDL preferred but not required)
• Strong mathematical aptitude
• Commitment to safety
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work at heights
• Capability to regularly carry, move, push, pull, and/or lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to climb ladders and stairways
• Regular bending and stooping
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours at a time
• Hand dexterity for operating controls, radios, and tools
• Ability to hear radio communications, alarms, machinery sounds, and crew instructions
