General Description

Responsible for professional work in a wide variety of athletic, recreation, and special events programs for citizens of all ages. Work is performed under direct supervision of either the Recreation Centers Coordinator, the Special Events & Marketing Coordinator, or Department Director designee. Incumbent may be required to work in a variety of Parks & Recreation locations.

Examples Of Essential Functions

  • Affords assistance with the organization, implementation, and supervision of various athletic, recreational, marketing, and special event programs.
  • Affords assistance as necessary with the coordination of facility and event scheduling and programming.
  • Fills in for Recreation Centers Coordinator or Special Events and Marketing Coordinator in their absence.
  • Deals with the general public, user groups, city staff, and all others in a professional manner.
  • Attends activities and events to ensure successful completion of the programs.
  • Collections fees and charges as necessary.
  • Prepares records and reports as necessary to accomplish tasks for the Department.
  • Affords assistance with the training, supervision, and coordination of volunteers and staff.
  • Affords assistance with the implementation of policies and procedures as directed by Parks and Recreation Director.
  • Affords assistance with the marketing and public relations associated with the department.
  • Attends public meetings and public interest group meetings to represent Parks and Recreation Department.

Typical Qualifications

  • A High School Graduate with advanced education desirable.
  • Leisure related experience or skills commensurate with "Essential Functions."
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s license.
  • A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check will be made to determine acceptance of past driving record.
