Fleet Mechanic Diesel Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Fleet Mechanic - Diesel Technician to maintain our heavy-duty CNG-powered trucks in line with factory and industry standards. This role involves diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance, using smartphone, laptop, and tablet technology to record all work. Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain customer vehicles, including heavy-duty trucks.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) on CNG tractors.
• Conduct engine, brake, drivetrain, electrical, and A/C repairs.
• Perform heavy-duty chassis repair.
• Test drive vehicles over 26,000 GVW.
• Assist other technicians with triage and workflow.
• Work independently and adapt to a flexible shift with possible travel.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of previous related experience/training.
• Must be available for possible travel.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
• Valid Class B CDL is a plus or ability to obtain one.
• Previous CNG experience is preferred.
• ASE Certifications are a plus.
• Degree or Diesel Program Certificate from a college or technical school is preferred.

Physical and Safety Requirements

• Frequent movement, standing, walking, and sitting.
• Regular use of hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Must be able to read and write reports.
• Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.

Pay

Up to $28–$40 per hour, depending on experience.
