Fleet Mechanic

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Buils and assembles machines or mechanical components according to requirements on vehicles.
• Inspects machines, engines, transmissions, and conducts diagnostic tests to identify functionality issues.
• Aims for maximum reliability in conducting repairs.
• Troubleshoots reported problems and resolves them promptly.
• Performs thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Replenishes fluids and components of engines and machinery.
• Provides consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users.
• Undertakes other duties as assigned (e.g., repair of hydraulic systems, painting, etc.).
• Keeps logs of work and reports on issues.
• Able to multi-task and work on projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• General mechanical knowledge required.
• Must be able to read and understand technical service manuals and other related materials.
• On-the-job training will be provided for forklift operation, Hazmat awareness, and other safety-related training.
• Associate assigned to refrigeration systems repair will be required to obtain certification in that area.
