Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Running diagnostic tests on vehicles.
- Analyzing diagnostic test results.
- Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems.
- Checking vehicle lighting systems.
- Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
- Maintaining preventative maintenance on service trucks.
- Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
- Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
- Maintaining a parts inventory.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.
- Reporting to garage manager when not knowledgeable of certain problems.
- Cooking in harmony with all Shambaugh & Son personnel.
- Promptly and accurately completing work orders in a legible manner.
- Checking all vehicles and equipment in yard for past due service.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience as an automotive technician.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification is a plus.
- Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Works well independently and with others.
- Good communication skills.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
