Fleet Mechanic

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Running diagnostic tests on vehicles.
• Analyzing diagnostic test results.
• Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems.
• Checking vehicle lighting systems.
• Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
• Maintaining preventative maintenance on service trucks.
• Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
• Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
• Maintaining a parts inventory.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.
• Reporting to garage manager when not knowledgeable of certain problems.
• Cooking in harmony with all Shambaugh & Son personnel.
• Promptly and accurately completing work orders in a legible manner.
• Checking all vehicles and equipment in yard for past due service.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification is a plus.
• Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Works well independently and with others.
• Good communication skills.
• Organized with attention to detail.
• Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
