Major Areas of Focus
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled repairs safely, professionally, and accurately
- Follows all company safety policies and procedures without exception
- Operates and tests equipment and machinery related to fleet and equipment maintenance
- Drives company vehicles as directed
- Demonstrates journeyman-level proficiency in one or more of the following specialties:
- Small engine repair
- Fleet/automotive repair
- Diesel engine repair
- Fabrication and welding
- Electrical or hydraulic systems
- Performs diagnostics on engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and related components
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and resolves them within reasonable time frames
- Performs fabrication, welding, cutting, or component reconstruction when needed
- Supports all other tasks related to fleet maintenance
- Operates plow trucks, loaders, and specialized snow‑removal equipment
- Shovels snow and uses walk‑behind blowers safely and efficiently
- Applies salt and de‑icing materials accurately and responsibly
- Supports pre‑storm planning and operational staging
- Affords assistance with post‑storm cleanup, equipment servicing, and restocking
- Equipment Management
- Professionally represents East Coast Facilities, Inc. at all times
- Communicates effectively with service providers and vendors
- Maintains a positive, responsive, and flexible attitude toward field support needs
- Inspects equipment and reports deficiencies or potential liabilities promptly
- Completes repairs that maximize reliability, safety, and equipment lifespan
- Ensures all tools, vehicles, trailers, and safety equipment remain in proper working condition
- Follows scheduled maintenance programs and maintains accurate records
- Identifies neglect or misuse of company equipment and reports findings to leadership
- Safety Management
- Maintains safe working conditions in the field and shop at all times
- Follows disciplinary procedures for violations of safety rules
- Drives a culture of zero preventable accidents
- Uses proper PPE and ensures others do the same
- Training Responsibilities (when applicable)
- Supports training of field personnel in minor maintenance, equipment handling, inspections, and proper use
- Helps reinforce fleet operation standards across the organization
- Image Compliance
- Maintains a clean, organized, and professional shop environment
- Maintains a clean and professional service vehicle and trailer
- Administrative Requirements
- Able to read, write, and complete repair orders, documentation, and inspection forms
- Completes required administrative tasks, including:
- Equipment Repair Requests
- Monthly Vehicle Safety Inspections
- Trailer Safety Inspection Forms (when applicable)
- Uses a smartphone/tablet to take photos, send emails, receive work orders, and update systems
- Minimum 3 years of professional mechanical repair experience (small engine, fleet, diesel, or industrial equipment)
- Broad experience in:
- Mechanical repair
- Preventive maintenance
- Fabrication
- Diagnosis & troubleshooting
- Fluent in spoken and written English (required)
- Holds and maintains a valid driver’s license
- Able and willing to fly commercially for out‑of-state deployments or surge operations
- Able to use a smartphone for communication and documentation
- Able to pass:
- Illlicit drug test
- Criminal background check
- Complies with all business ethics, confidentiality requirements, laws, and regulations
- Works in or near areas with active automotive traffic
- May work near natural bodies of water or uneven surfaces
- Uses lifts, hoists, torches, and heavy shop tools
- Able to work overtime or extended shifts when required
- Works outdoors in extreme temperatures (0°F–95°F), including sun, rain, snow, and icy conditions
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, and climbing throughout the workday
