Fleet Maintenance Technician

About the role

CCSO is looking for strong candidates with an excellent work history who aspire to become a Deputy Sheriff with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office. Candidates are encouraged to apply for a limited number of paid sponsorships to the Law Enforcement Academy at Withlacoochee Technical College (WTC). Successful candidates will be under contract with CCSO for a total of three years from their hire date.

Responsibilities

• Communications Officer: serve as the critical first point of contact for the public requesting emergency and non-emergency assistance; receive, prioritize, process, and dispatch all incoming calls for service involving law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services, and public safety personnel and resources throughout the county; utilize emergency communication technologies, exercise sound judgement, multitask, demonstrate emotional resilience, and adhere to agency policies and legal standards while maintaining public safety standards.
• Deputy Sheriff: protect life and property, enforce laws, and maintain order throughout Citrus County; emphasize community policing by building relationships with residents, businesses, and organizations to foster trust and safety; respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, and ensure public safety through proactive patrol and engagement.
• Fleet Maintenance Technician: perform skilled mechanical work in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of CCSO vehicles and equipment, including patrol cars, specialty units, transport vans, and administrative vehicles; ensure all fleet assets are safe, reliable, and mission ready, supporting the operational needs of law enforcement personnel.

Pay

Starting pay rate: $24.04 per hour ($50,003.20 annually).
