About the role
The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor oversees a maintenance shop responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs of a fleet, machinery supporting facilities, and equipment servicing the container shop.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and timely repairs in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Plan and schedule repair work to minimize productivity loss.
- Monitor performance, provide coaching, conduct inspections, and oversee complex diagnostics and repairs.
- Manage inventory, budget, and administrative tasks, including record-keeping and expense approvals.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of vehicle systems, perform quality control, and ensure repair accuracy.
- Lead hiring, training, performance evaluations, and employee development.
- Ensure repairs meet safety, compliance, and quality standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or G.E.D., ASE certification, and relevant technical certifications.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience with heavy equipment maintenance, including supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of engine, emission, electrical, hydraulic, and repair systems.
- Leadership skills, safety awareness, and ability to manage inventory and administrative functions.
