Fleet Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversees fleet maintenance including in-house and outsourced repairs
• Oversees yard maintenance to ensure safe operating conditions are maintained
• Responsible for training of staff to support all Fleet Maintenance programs
• Manages day-to-day operations of all Fleet maintenance programs while ensuring maximum efficiencies in cost and service
• Coordinates communication with mechanics coming into facilities
• Recruits/train/direct a multi-location workforce
• Controls expenditures by maintaining oversight on repair functions to reduce/eliminate waste
• Implements controlled purchasing functions and capitalizes on economies when possible
• Periodically reviews employee skills and talents
• Maintains recaps of expenses as best possible using whatever methods are available
• Constantly focuses on DOT concerns and requirements
• Conducts annual associate reviews
• Evaluates new depot locations for serviceability

Qualifications

• Proven extensive knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
• Extensive background in DOT mandated repair practices
• Minimum of 10 years experience in the heavy trucking industry
• Ability to coordinate teams and projects across multiple fleet locations
• Ability to communicate proactively and effectively including comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as required by the position
