Fleet Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager in Wilton or Amsterdam, New York. The role involves managing a team of technicians and mechanics to ensure a safe and efficient fleet, including maintenance of Class 7-8 trucks, trailers, and reefers.

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate, and develop employees
• Maintain employee performance and accessibility across all areas of the shop
• Oversee multiple shop operations
• Plan daily manpower to meet workload
• Support the operations team regarding all equipment-related issues
• Monitor and analyze opportunities to reduce costs and enhance efficiency
• Perform administrative functions such as payroll approval, scanner downloads, repair order maintenance, and compliance documentation
• Address corrective actions for direct reports
• Ensure clean, safe working conditions and equipment
• Communicate with clients to meet operational and company needs
• Monitor and manage equipment sent to external repair sources
• Conduct pre-shift meetings
• Comply with all applicable laws and company policies

Requirements

• At least 2 years' industry experience in fleet maintenance or operations
• 5-8 years of direct management experience
• Prior technician/mechanic experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with heavy truck/trailer/reefers repair and maintenance
• Ability to travel as needed to oversee multiple shop locations
• Thorough knowledge of DOT rules and regulations, company policies, and procedures
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Word, Excel, Fleet Management systems, and exposure to large ERP/timekeeping systems

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be able to lift and move heavy objects
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions
• Must be able to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling
• Must comply with all applicable laws and company policies

Schedule

The position requires regular travel between the Amsterdam and Wilton locations.

Pay

Competitive salary, paid weekly on Fridays. Salary range is $85,000-$100,000 depending on experience, with additional bonus incentives.
