About the Role

As a Fleet Maintenance Fueler Washer at Penske, you’ll make sure vehicles are fueled, clean, and safe before they hit the road again. You will be the face of Penske—the person greeting our customers when they arrive and the one sending them off with a smile.
This role is perfect if you’ve always had an interest in vehicle maintenance but haven’t had the chance to pursue it. No experience is required. We will introduce you to our vehicle maintenance processes, teach you how to use our leading-edge technology, and provide training and experience to help you advance to become a technician. Responsibilities
- Greeting customers and ensuring they have a great experience while fueling and washing vehicles
- Performing vehicle readiness inspections to check tires, fluids, and other basic maintenance items
- Helping maintain clean, safe facilities for customers and associates
- Building skills through training and hands-on coaching to perform minor repairs such as installing mounted tires, replacing or rotating tires, and performing preventive maintenance repairs
- Completing other projects and tasks as assigned by a supervisor
- Understanding and complying with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management
- Performing all work in adherence to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies, including correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
Requirements
- High school diploma, equivalent, or prior work experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Willingness and ability to work outside
- Basic mechanical ability and tool usage (preferred)
- Basic computer skills
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Ability to accept responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others
- Willingness to work the required schedule and at the specified location
- Completion of Penske employment application, background screening (including criminal checks, past employment, and education), and ability to pass a drug screen and physical as required by the Department of Transportation
- Potential travel within a near geography for training
DOT Requirements
- This position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles and is regulated by the DOT
- Maintenance of a current driver qualification file, including an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check
- Successfully completed DOT Physical
- Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last 3 years
- CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and are subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review
Physical Requirements
- Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods
- Routine and daily use of hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, or operate tools and controls
- Ability to work safely at heights using ladders and elevated working platforms
- Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
- Ability to see and hear to safely navigate the work environment, especially with large trucks moving through the workplace
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
- Ability to push/pull truck tires on a regular basis that exceed 100 pounds

Pay
$20.50 per hour with a $2.00 per hour shift premium for 2nd shift

2nd Shift, Sunday–Thursday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
