Principal Duties
- Perform minor repairs on gasoline and diesel engines.
- Perform minor repair work and adjustments on automobiles, medium and heavy duty trucks, and all types of heavy equipment.
- Maintain record of services performed and assist with writing shop repairs orders.
- Perform preventative maintenance and state inspections on automobiles, medium and heavy-duty trucks, and heavy equipment including all types of fluid level checks and lubrication checks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D., one (1) year technical training in a field related to area of assignment, or one (1) year automotive/equipment repair experience; or, an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- State Inspector Certification must be obtained within six (6) months of hire date.
- Possess Class C Drivers license or State of Texas Class B CDL (CDL must be obtained within one (1) year of hire date).
- Basic understanding of mechanical and automotive principles.
- Ability to work after hours and weekends.
