Compensation

The base hourly rate for this position is $35.14.

Responsibilities

• Deliver full truckloads of Johns Manville products to jobsites and warehouses.
• Safely drive a commercial vehicle in compliance with safety and DOT regulations.
• Dispatch loads from Hillsboro, TX daily, planning routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules.
• Full‑time solo operator on a 5‑day schedule with some weekend exceptions and occasional overnight travel.
• Operate primarily flatbeds and some dry vans for interstate (TX) and intrastate deliveries (OK, LA, etc.).
• Maintain a detailed driver log documenting mileage, travel time, and rest periods as required by the Department of Transportation.
• Physically handle long‑duration driving and secure loads by tarp, strap, and chain.
• Provide excellent customer service and communication.
• Perform vehicle inspection reports and use required personal protective equipment.
• Operate a forklift and work in a warehouse as needed.
• Assist with additional tasks as required.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of safe, verifiable driving experience.
• Current medical certification.
• Valid Class A CDL with HazMat endorsement.
• Ability to meet Johns Manville’s driving qualifications.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Pass a drug‑screen test.
• Capability to tarp, strap, and chain loads to maintain cargo security.
• No DUI/DWI convictions.

Physical Requirements

• Stand for extended periods.
• Manually lift, push or pull at least 50 lb safely, sometimes in awkward positions.
• Repetitive hand motions (grabbing, feeling, pulling).
• Work safely in a fast‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Work in dusty conditions with a broad temperature range (very hot to very cold).
• Withstand a rotating 12‑hour (or 8‑hour) shift schedule.
• Bend, stoop or kneel repeatedly.
• Reach or work above shoulder level.
• Incumbent must be physically able to perform essential job functions; reasonable accommodations are available.

Schedule

Full‑time solo operator; 5‑day workweek with occasional weekend shifts, occasional overnight travel, and a rotating 12‑hour (or 8‑hour) shift schedule.
