Fleet Deckhand - Clinton, IA

This is a full-time, non-exempt, on-site position available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers.

Responsibilities

• General upkeep of the vessel, including washing, chipping, painting, and cleaning
• Tow work, including building rigging and building tow for Lineboats
• Fleet work, including preparing barges for delivery to local customers
• Assisting barge cleaners, mechanics, and welders as required

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Ability to work safely, exercise initiative, and use good judgment
• Reading and writing skills sufficient to comprehend and complete a variety of documents
• Ability to work in a flexible schedule with changing assignments and priorities
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work in all types of climates
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, including drug screen
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Credential (TWIC) card
• Successful completion of a background check

Pay

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $259 per day. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
