About the Role

As a Fleet and Maintenance Technician at High Plains Mental Health Center, you'll play an essential behind-the-scenes role that helps staff provide life-changing mental health services throughout northwest Kansas. From maintaining facilities and fleet vehicles to assisting with improvement projects and special events, no two days are the same.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including painting, drywall patching, fixture replacement, furniture assembly, and minor repairs
  • Assist with remodeling, renovation, and facility improvement projects
  • Support preventative maintenance efforts across Center facilities and equipment
  • Conduct facility inspections and identify maintenance, safety, or security concerns
  • Assist with groundskeeping, custodial duties, and facility upkeep as needed
  • Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials between Center locations (Center vehicle provided)
  • Help with office relocations, workspace setups, and facility reconfigurations
  • Support fleet operations through vehicle inspections, cleaning, transportation, maintenance scheduling, and recordkeeping
  • Receive and organize deliveries and supplies
  • Assist with event, meeting, and training room setup and teardown
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner
  • Work collaboratively with contractors, vendors, and Center staff to support daily operations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in maintenance, construction, facilities, automotive, or custodial work preferred
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
  • Ability to perform physical labor and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Basic computer and technology skills
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license with no substance-related incidents in the past 5 years; must be reasonably insurable
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

  • $20 per hour
  • $500 sign-on bonus

Schedule

  • Full-time, in-person
  • Typical hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
