Flash Butt Welder/ Mobile Intrack Welder

About the role

The Flash Butt Welder / Mobile Intrack Welder is responsible for driving, operating, diagnosing, and maintaining a mobile electric flash-butt welding machine. Duties include driving a welding truck (CDL required) to and from work locations, setting up the welding truck on the track, and performing weld operations in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform Flash Butt Welder / Mobile Intrack Welds.
• Operate in a safe and professional manner while supervising and leading a small group.
• Report customer and production status in a timely manner.
• Read precision instruments and gauges; work with heavy mechanical/electrical machines and equipment.
• Perform QA inspections as required.
• Set up weld operations, including moving jack stands, cleaning work areas, maintaining vehicles, and grinding welds.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions.
• Travel to field locations for repairs or maintenance (90% travel required).
• Fill out and organize work reports.

Requirements

• Valid Class A driver’s license and satisfactory driving record (ability to gain Class-A CDL within 90 days).
• Must be 21 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills and good verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
• No prior welding experience required.

Skills

• Ability to read precision instruments and gauges.
• Background in heavy mechanical/electrical machines and equipment.
• Self-directed with leadership abilities for small groups.
• Strong communication with employees and customers at all levels.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Works both indoors and outdoors, frequently in field locations.
• Performs physical activities requiring use of arms, legs, and whole-body movement (standing, lifting, walking, stooping, bending, reaching).
• Operates equipment and tools involved in repairs using hands and fingers.
• Lifts, pushes, pulls, and carries objects up to 50 pounds.
• Works around vehicles and machinery with moving parts, exposed to exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel.
• May be exposed to harsh weather conditions and loud noise.

Pay

$65,000 - $75,000 per year.
