Fixed Wing Pilot in Command

About the Role

The Fixed Wing Pilot ensures safe and efficient aircraft operations in compliance with federal regulations and manufacturer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate aircraft safely, demonstrating critical thinking during preflight planning and flight operations.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of aviation regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and stakeholders.
• Ensure aircraft cleanliness, functionality, and safety environment.
• Assist with patient loading, equipment management, and aircraft maintenance tasks.
• As Lead Pilot, oversee satellite base activities and enforce compliance.
• Evaluate pilot performance, participate in training, and serve as a mentor under development programs.
• Monitor safety issues, contribute to safety committees, and promote best practices.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial or ATP ratings with appropriate aircraft experience.
• Extensive flight hours, including night and instrument flying.
• Proficiency in decision-making, weather interpretation, communication, and crew resource management.
• Ability to lift heavy items, operate equipment, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to support and transport equipment and patients efficiently.
• Must be physically capable of standing, sitting, lifting, and maneuvering in confined spaces.

Qualifications & Skills

• Preferred experience includes EMS, King Air, PC-12, and turbo-jet operations.

Location & Schedule

Position is located in Cortez, Colorado, with a typical weekly schedule.
