Fixed Maintenance Mechanic 1 (Night Shift)

About the Role

Provides assistance to plant and/or maintenance personnel to perform repairs on stationary equipment, including crushers, conveyors, vibrators, screens, speed reducers, feeders, air compressors, and more.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties safely, responsibly, and proficiently while observing all safety and health rules.
• Familiarize with different types of fluids, oils, and lubes for each piece of equipment.
• Assist with performing equipment services according to recommended guidelines and equipment service manuals.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices in the shop and general plant area.
• Perform oil, lube, and filter services on stationary equipment and maintain lubrication reports and service records.
• Assist plant and/or shop personnel with repair and maintenance as required.
• Perform basic welding and cutting tasks as required.
• Report equipment conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Perform a variety of additional duties as directed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• This is an entry-level position requiring few welding skills and little to no experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic preferred.
• Good mechanical skills; knowledge of raw materials and production processes is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and understand servicing and instruction manuals.

Pay

The salary is prescribed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Starting salary with no previous experience is $33.26 per hour.
