About the role

Your Impact The Mechanic I is a highly self-motivated, customer-centric team player responsible for maintaining material handling equipment and ensuring proper working order and safe operating conditions within the warehouse. You possess basic carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and janitorial experience to assist in day-to-day operations. This role is essential for minimizing downtime by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting various systems, and responding to emergency repairs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and diagnose basic and complex issues on conveyor material handling systems, sorters, unloaders, dock doors, dock levelers, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection systems.
• Perform emergency repairs, including diagnosing problems and dispatching appropriate vendors as necessary.
• Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on all assigned assets (PIVs, sorters, conveyors, unloaders, dock doors, electrical panels, etc.) according to manufacturer standards and established schedules.
• Maintain and ensure the proper working order of Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs).
• Conduct general building maintenance, including basic carpentry (painting, drywall), plumbing, and cleaning.
• Responsible for facilities projects as directed by the Supervisor.
