Responsibilities
- Assist with all work related to HVAC/Mechanical/Industrial projects
- Measure and cut pipe according to requirements
- Perform soldering, brazing, threading pipe, grooving pipe, and installing hangers, as well as carbon steel pipe (up to 24”)
- Repair malfunctions, breakages, or leaks
- Test pipe systems to ensure safety and functionality
- Communicate professionally with management and team members
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Observe, report, and correct unsafe work environments
- Collaborate with other workers to complete projects
- Manage and maintain tools, equipment, and project materials on job sites
- Complete all job-related documentation and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain professional communication with customers in person and through electronic correspondence
- Care for and maintain company vehicles while adhering to all company Fleet Policy requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned by the company
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience fitting pipe
- Must have personal hand tools required for the position
- Ability to present yourself in a professional manner
- Clear communication skills and ability to follow directions from Foreman
- Ability to show up on time, ready to work, and in uniform
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
- Ability to identify, install, and repair mechanical pipe systems
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of cutting and welding methods
- Ability to recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the trade
- Ability to abide by basic safe work practices
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and some weekends
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
Physical Demands
- Occasional sitting, frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing
- Constant standing, walking, reaching, and gripping
- Vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to talk and hear
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (maximum solo lift) and constant lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Material handling: lifting from floor level to overhead, with occasional lifting up to 115 lbs., frequent lifting up to 50 lbs., and constant lifting up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment
- Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise intensity levels, and atmospheric conditions
- Exposure to electrical shock, toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid conditions, and vibration
- Proximity to moving mechanical parts and working in high-exposure areas
