Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fitter / Welder to join a dynamic fabrication shop operating out of an expansive, state-of-the-art 200,000-square-foot facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Fitting & Alignment: Layout, position, align, and fit together metal parts, plates, and structural components in preparation for final welding according to technical schematics.
- Production Welding: Perform high-quality welding operations utilizing MIG and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) processes.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Review and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and job specifications to determine layout dimensions and welding sequences.
- Material Customization: Work comfortably across plate, structural, or pipe fabrication applications based on structural demands and project specifications.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect completed welds and fits for accuracy, uniform material penetration, and adherence to strict structural tolerances.
- Safety Standards: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace while adhering strictly to all heavy industrial safety protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Fitter, Welder, or Fabricator within a structural metal or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Welding Proficiency: Strong, verifiable hands-on experience with MIG (GMAW) and Flux-Core (FCAW) welding processes.
- Technical Layout: Solid proficiency in reading fabrication blueprints, understanding weld symbols, and executing manual layouts.
- Physical Demands: Ability to navigate a large-scale manufacturing environment, handle heavy structural parts safely, and stand/bend for extended periods.
- Attributes: High attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and a dependable work ethic.
