Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Safely and effectively conduct group fitness classes for the Belmont community using proper form, cuing techniques, and appropriate regressions and progressions
- Maintain and manage records regarding class registration and attendance
- Facilitate wellness education programming for members of the Belmont community
- Develop and maintain a positive and supportive atmosphere for class participants
- Attend Reunions, CEUs, trainings and developmental programs
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Excellent oral communication skills with co-workers, supervisors, patrons and guests
- Excellent customer interaction skills with co-workers, supervisors, patrons and guests
- Able to work outside conventional work hours (e.g. weekends, late nights and some holidays)
- Must have a knowledge of fitness programming including proper form, participant interaction, and exercise prescription
- Must possess the ability to design and implement evidence-backed exercise classes that satisfy participant needs while remaining within the scope of practice as stated by their certifying organization
- Able to effectively progress and regress exercises based on participant fitness levels
Required Education
- Must be enrolled as a current student at Belmont University
Required Experience
- Current NCCA-accredited general fitness or specialty certification (i.e. SPIN, ZUMBA, Barre, Yoga)
