Group Fitness Instructor

About the role

An Exercise Specialist joining our team at Haywood Regional Medical Center supports the needs of our community. This role works closely with all areas within the facility to serve the needs of our members, patients, and guests.

Responsibilities

• Teaches fundamental techniques and components using methods which include discussion, demonstration, repetitive practice, and integration of component skills into overall activity goals.
• Adheres to ACSM guidelines for safe exercise participation.
• Maintains a pleasant and safe area for members by monitoring the exercise floor.

Requirements

• Current certification in Group Exercise within 30 days of hire (e.g., NETA, AFAA, AAAI-ISMA, or others approved).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• American Red Cross CPR, AHA BLS, or AHA CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of health and fitness preferred.
• At least one year of work experience in wellness, health promotion, health club, university, or community recreation, or hospital fitness preferred.
