Fitness & Recreation Specialist

Responsibilities

• One-on-one personal training for seniors.
• Planning and instruction of multiple fitness classes throughout the week.
• Overseeing and planning of indoor and outdoor recreation programs.
• Operation of the indoor/outdoor recreation program.
• Assists in teaching group fitness classes and provides personal training.
• Provide technical help with our Community Engagement App and other projects as assigned.
• Maintain current knowledge of Friendship Village of Dublin and community service resources and refer residents to appropriate programs.
• Overall knowledge of the Wellness Center – its offerings, equipment, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with all Wellness Center staff and be flexible to assure the Wellness Department provides optimal service.
• Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Remain current on new research in the Wellness/Fitness arena.
• Assist in maintaining Fitness Center equipment.
• Experience in leading recreational activities.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office products).
• Excellent communication, public speaking, time management, and organizational skills.
• Able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English.
• Personal Training Certification required.
• Group fitness certification preferred.
