About the role

The Fitness Instructor will instruct group or individual fitness classes tailored to the abilities of Members and guests. Instructors deliver classes with an enthusiastic and engaging teaching style to promote a safe and fun atmosphere for all. This is a seasonal position for the Winter months (November – April).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure outstanding guest service by greeting and acknowledging every member and guest, maintaining service standards, and demonstrating product knowledge.
  • Guarantee total guest satisfaction by displaying hospitality and professionalism, handling transactions ethically, and addressing service needs proactively.
  • Apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure environment; report accidents or emergencies immediately.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all employees to foster a positive environment.
  • Lead classes in Yoga, Spin, Boot Camp, Kick Boxing, and/or Mat Pilates.
  • Anticipate and address Member and guest service needs while assisting individuals with disabilities.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions with Members, guests, and co-workers.
  • Develop positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond to feedback.
  • Clean and prepare the instruction space after each class.
  • Open and close the Camphouse facility daily according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide detailed descriptions of the Camphouse Fitness Center, machinery, fitness events, and lessons to Members and guests.
  • Actively promote the facility, lessons, services, sessions, and retail offerings.
  • Keep the facility clean and amenities stocked; assist in other areas of Camphouse as directed.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and report unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Prepare classes by cleaning props, rooms, and equipment.
  • Perform duties efficiently in accordance with Club policies and service standards.
  • Maintain productivity, organization, punctuality, attendance, and consistency standards.
  • Communicate regularly with employees, supervisors, and managers.
  • Maintain a clean, neat appearance and project a favorable image of Yellowstone Club.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required.
  • Maintain Member privacy at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or vocational training; minimum one year of experience in Yoga, Spin, Boot Camp, Kick Boxing, and/or Mat Pilates.
  • Current, valid CPR and basic first aid certification.
  • Ability to instruct a variety of skill levels in both group and individual settings.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office systems.
  • Ability to speak clearly and effectively with Members, guests, and co-workers; legible writing skills.
  • Basic math calculation skills.
  • Problem-solving ability and awareness of when to seek managerial assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Work Environment

The position is primarily performed in a climate-controlled environment, though outdoor work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind, snow) may be required.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Constantly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or reach.
  • Constant use of hands and fingers to handle or lift items.
  • Visual acuity for guest safety, equipment inspection, hazard monitoring, and maintaining a clean environment.
  • Constant exposure to distracting or uncomfortable noise levels without hearing protection.

Pay

50% of compensation comes from commissions (including Service Charge but excluding voluntary gratuity). This position is commissioned and exempt from overtime.
