About the role

The Fitness Attendant assists with knowledge about the equipment, fulfills beverage orders, signs up Members and guests for classes, and performs other work as assigned by the Health and Wellness Manager. This is a seasonal position for the Winter months (November – April).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure outstanding guest service by greeting and acknowledging every member and guest, maintaining service standards, and demonstrating product knowledge.
  • Guarantee total guest satisfaction, displaying hospitality and professionalism at all times.
  • Handle all guest transactions in a legal and ethical manner.
  • Apply property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure environment; report accidents or emergencies immediately.
  • Foster a positive working environment by maintaining favorable relationships with all employees.
  • Initiate interaction with Members, guests, and prospective Members to provide information about services, events, and activities.
  • Provide accurate and timely information regarding services, events, and local activities.
  • Enter charges for services rendered and create client profiles using a club and resort management system.
  • Answer inquiries via telephone, email, fax, or mail and route them to the appropriate department.
  • Keep detailed records of Member preferences and requests.
  • Properly open and close the Camphouse Fitness Center daily according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide detailed descriptions of the facility, machinery, fitness events, and lessons to Members and guests.
  • Fulfill beverage orders and actively promote facility services, lessons, and retail.
  • Keep the facility clean and amenities stocked.
  • Assist in all areas of Camphouse as directed by a supervisor or manager.
  • Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with Club policies and service standards.
  • Maintain departmental productivity, organization, punctuality, attendance, and consistency standards.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful attitude and professional appearance at all times.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with all employees, supervisors, and managers.
  • Project a favorable image of Yellowstone Club to Members and guests.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Maintain Member privacy at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or vocational training; one to two years’ experience in customer service.
  • Strong verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Valid State Driver’s License.
  • Intermediate/advanced keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office systems.
  • Ability to speak clearly and effectively with Members, guests, and co-workers.
  • Basic math calculation skills.
  • Ability to solve basic problems or escalate to management when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree.
  • Previous work experience in a gym or workout facility.

Work Environment

The role is primarily performed in a climate-controlled environment, though occasional outdoor work in extreme weather conditions may be required.

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally required to walk, use hands and arms, and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Frequently required to talk and hear.
  • Constantly required to use vision for tasks such as preparing data, reading, and ensuring accuracy.
  • Constantly required to sit and use hands/fingers to operate a computer, sometimes for extended periods.
