About the Role

We’re looking for coaches who inspire and create exceptional moments on a daily basis. As an Orangetheory Fitness (OTF) Coach, you will deliver scientifically predesigned workouts for up to 45 clients per session. This role requires strong coaching and time-management skills to motivate multiple clients in a group setting. An OTF Coach focuses on a well-rounded approach to fitness—endurance, strength, and power—using provided tools to optimize client experience and results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and motivate members by demonstrating exercises and proper techniques of pre-defined workouts.
  • Help members set and achieve fitness goals.
  • Clearly demonstrate and explain exercises, ensuring participants understand correct form and technique for safe and effective performance. Offer modifications to accommodate various fitness levels or limitations.
  • Manage class dynamics by fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere and a sense of community. Ensure smooth transitions between exercises and keep participants engaged.
  • Understand the science behind Orangetheory workouts, specifically heart-rate-based interval training.
  • Prioritize participant safety by monitoring movements, correcting improper form, and addressing safety concerns. Maintain a clean, hazard-free environment and be prepared to administer basic first aid if necessary.
  • Engage in consistent member outreach and communication.

Requirements

  • Current fitness certification from an OTF-approved education company (e.g., ACSM, ACE, ISSA, NCSF, NASM, NCSA, or AFAA).
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized.
  • Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Desire and capacity to train all fitness levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an exercise-related field (preferred).
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • 1+ years of experience teaching groups or personal training in the fitness industry.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 40 lbs.

Benefits

  • Advancement opportunities, including growth into Multi-Unit Fitness Manager roles.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations within the studio network.
  • Cross-functional opportunities as the company expands into multiple health and wellness brands.
  • 401K retirement plan.
  • Employee Referral Program: Earn $250 for every employee you refer who is retained.
  • Complimentary OTF classes and employee discounts on retail.
  • Access to free mental health counseling.
  • Discounts on theme parks, travel, movies, and more through LifeMart and TicketsAtWork.
  • Pre-tax commuter benefit plan for public transportation savings.

Pay

  • Base hourly rate.
  • Commissions: Total compensation per class ranges from $25–$75 based on class size.

Mission & Values

Mission: To bring out your best life through inspiring, motivating, and exceptional moments.

Vision: To be the premier wellness portfolio that supercharges everyday life.

Values: Happy, Hungry, Humble, Healthy & Human.
