Fitness Center Floor Staff
Job Summary
The Admin/Floor Time is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment on the fitness floor. The primary duties include monitoring equipment usage, ensuring proper sanitation protocols are followed, and providing assistance to members and guests as needed. The role will proactively engage members, offering guidance on equipment usage and fitness techniques while promoting a positive atmosphere within the facility.
Reporting Structure
Reports to the Fitness Manager or Fitness Director
Day To Day
- Engage with members and guests, consistently using their names to create a personalized experience.
- Foster genuine relationships with members, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Promote club activities and fitness programs, encouraging participation and enhancing member engagement.
- Conduct comprehensive member orientations for fitness facilities, demonstrating proper equipment usage and identifying opportunities for personal training or private lessons.
- Adhere to established cleaning protocols, safety guidelines, and operational standards to maintain a safe and hygienic fitness environment.
- Regularly inspect fitness equipment to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
Additional Duties
- Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff.
- Follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same.
- Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role.
- Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations.
- Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and contribute to the team’s success.
Required
- About You:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a group fitness trainer and/or in a fitness or recreational setting.
- Certification in CPR, First Aid and AED within the last 6 months as well as being a certified group exercise instructor with AFAA, ISSA, NETA or ACE.
Preferred
- A college degree in health, fitness, exercise science, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate and motivate clients.
- Ability to assess individual fitness levels and develop tailored exercise programs.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
- Occasional exposure to temperature changes, dust, fumes, or gases.
- Squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, and bending.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 lbs. on occasion.
- Talking, hearing, and seeing.

Work Schedule
- Adherence to attendance requirements as outlined in the weekly schedule.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet position deadlines.
- Availability to work on weekends and/or holidays as required.
