Fit-up Welder

About the role

Welding of conveyor components.

Responsibilities

• Welding and fabrication in barrel of fabrication department
• Compliance with all Safety rules and regulations
• Utilize and embrace lean manufacturing activities and other cost reduction activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Must be able to work assigned shift and overtime as needed (including weekends when necessary)

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Mig and stick welding vocation training desired but not required
• Physical demands: standing, crouching and/or bending 10+ hours a day; lifting up to 40 lbs.; overhead crane used for larger items; repetitive motion (tightening bolts and nuts); factory environment with high noise, welding & grinding; no air‑conditioning; exposure to weld smoke

Qualifications

• Experience with Mig and stick welding

Skills

• Must pass internal welding test
• Ability to read a tape measure and blue prints
• Proficiency with air, power and hand tools, especially torch and grinder
• Mechanically inclined

Schedule

1st shift: 6am‑4:30 pm (Mon‑Thurs); overtime on Fridays expected.
