The Fashion Institute of Technology Residential Life Team is seeking student-centered emerging educators to join our dynamic group of professionals. Job Description

  • Housing Operations Assist with the room selection process.
  • Respond to internal and external requests, inquiries, and concerns through the Res Life email.
  • Work closely with dining services to coordinate meal plan changes.
  • Facilitate room change requests including room inspection and key reports.
  • Communicate current occupancy with campus partners such as the Mailroom and Facilities.
  • Cookordination and management of the Post-Selection Housing Process.

Essential Functions

  • Facilities Management
    • Follow up on outstanding maintenance requests and facility condition assessments.
    • Respond to student and parent concerns regarding facility conditions, coordinating with Facilities and other campus departments to resolve issues.
  • Summer Programs
    • Work closely with Marketing Committee to promote and advertise for Summer Intern Housing.
    • Serve as a point of contact for summer conferences and intern housing.
    • Aid in the housing selection process for Summer Programs and assist with move in and out.

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Understanding of student development philosophy, residence hall management and ability to work with a diverse student and staff population. Demonstrated leadership abilities, organizational skills, and excellent skills in oral and written communications.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior work experience in residential life or student leadership strongly preferred.

Additional Information

  • Please note all offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of the background check process.
  • Salary: $25 per hour
  • Benefits: Eligible for FIT Part-Time Employee Benefits.
  • Work Schedule: Days/Hours: M-F, 20 hours per week, in person; work schedule subject to change based on needs of the department.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • The working conditions for this position may be in any combination of an office space and residential housing.
  • The physical requirement for this position will require constant sitting, frequent standing, occasional bending, occasional walking, occasional pulling, pushing, or reaching, occasional use of hands to handle objects, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
