Fiscal Technician (Local Government)

About the role

This position focuses on completing a wide range of accounting and fiscal tasks that support important Mental Health, Intellectual Disabilities, and Early Intervention programs.

Responsibilities

• Budget Support: Assist with developing, preparing, and monitoring program budgets and financial forecasts
• Account Maintenance: Maintain accounting structures, cost allocations, inventory controls, and audit requirements
• Financial Processing: Prepare and reconcile deposits, vouchers, billing records, and various program accounting documents
• Fiscal Reporting: Compile reports, review accounts, and support agency analysis of financial data
• Contract Monitoring: Participate in fiscal monitoring of contracts and assist with tracking fixed assets

Schedule

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch
• Telework: Not available for this position

Requirements

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Fiscal Assistant; or
• Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
• One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

• Must meet the PA residency requirement
• Must be able to perform essential job functions

Legal Requirements:

• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law
• A conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
