First-Year Litigation Associate, Orange County

This opportunity is ideal for a recent law school graduate who recently sat for the July 2026 California Bar Exam and is looking to launch a litigation career with a global law firm. From day one, you'll work alongside experienced attorneys on active matters, contribute to case strategy, and gain hands-on experience that helps accelerate your development as a litigator.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced attorneys in the management of a diverse litigation caseload, gaining meaningful hands-on experience from the outset of your career
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda using legal research platforms, including Westlaw
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings that contribute directly to case strategy and client outcomes
• Draft and respond to written discovery
• Review, organize, and analyze documents for production while developing a strong foundation in litigation practice
• Participate in case strategy discussions and investigations, sharing insights and learning from experienced practitioners
• Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and client meetings to build practical experience and broaden your exposure to the litigation process
• Assist in the preparation of matters for mediation, arbitration, and trial
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and internal teams in a collaborative and professional manner
• Provide timely case updates and contribute to client reporting
• Develop your litigation and advocacy skills through meaningful work, mentorship, and continuous learning opportunities
• Take ownership of assignments and play an active role in delivering exceptional service to our clients from day one

Requirements

• Recently sat for the July 2026 California Bar Exam and is awaiting admission, or has recently been admitted to the California Bar
• Graduated from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
• Developed an interest in litigation through academic and hands-on experiences such as internships, clerkships, clinics, or moot court
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities
• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to successfully balance competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proactive, intellectually curious, and eager to take ownership of work and continue learning
• Enjoys collaborating with others while also working independently when needed

Pay

The salary for this position is $140,000. The salary for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
