First-Year Litigation Associate, Los Angeles

Clyde & Co’s Los Angeles office is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented entry-level Associate to launch a litigation career with a global firm that offers meaningful development, collaboration, and early responsibility.

From day one you will work alongside experienced attorneys on active matters, contribute to case strategy, and gain hands-on experience that accelerates your development as a litigator. Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced attorneys in the management of a diverse litigation caseload, gaining hands-on experience from the outset
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda using Westlaw and other platforms
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings that contribute directly to case strategy and client outcomes
• Draft and respond to written discovery
• Review, organize, and analyze documents for production while developing a strong foundation in litigation practice
• Participate in case strategy discussions and investigations, sharing insights and learning from experienced practitioners
• Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and client meetings to build practical experience and broaden exposure to the litigation process
• Assist in the preparation of matters for mediation, arbitration, and trial
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and internal teams in a collaborative and professional manner
• Provide timely case updates and contribute to client reporting
• Develop litigation and advocacy skills through meaningful work, mentorship, and continuous learning opportunities
• Take ownership of assignments and play an active role in delivering exceptional service to clients

Requirements

• Recently sat for the July 2026 California Bar Exam and is awaiting admission, or has recently been admitted to the California Bar
• Graduated from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
• Developed an interest in litigation through academic and hands-on experiences such as internships, clerkships, clinics, or moot court
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities
• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proactive, intellectually curious, and eager to take ownership of work and continue learning
• Enjoys collaborating with others while also working independently when needed

Pay

$140,000 per year. The salary takes into account a wide range of factors including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business needs.
