About The Role
This role consists of duties involving the efficient picking and packing, handling, and the timely movement of product. The primary goal is to move product safely while maximizing productivity. Detailed Standard Operating Procedures exist for tasks performed in the following areas: Breakdown, Ecom Full Service, Ecom Indirect, Happy Beauty, Key In, Loading, Packing, Picking, Returns, Stores, Cleaning, and Batching.
Responsibilities
- Monitors workflow and adjusts to changes by directing and guiding others in the assigned department.
- Keeps supervisor updated on the progress of the assigned department and any challenges that may arise.
- Ensures daily workloads are completed.
- Performs as an individual contributor, completing complex tasks requiring considerable judgment, independent analysis, and decision-making with detailed knowledge of the position and procedures.
- May assist in training or retraining new or current employees.
- Conducts self in a manner that portrays safety, productivity, and professionalism.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior distribution/warehouse experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the capability to adjust to change and interruptions.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- 5 years of directly related experience or equivalent work experience.
- Thorough working knowledge of all processes and policies relating to duties performed in assigned department(s).
- Working knowledge of currently utilized warehouse management software and equipment used in the department(s).
- If the assigned group requires operation of lift trucks, must be able to become certified through the Sally Beauty Lift Truck Training Program to efficiently and safely operate a forklift within the time frame specified by management.
- Ability to maintain neat and accurate records.
- Skilled in basic arithmetic and ability to read and interpret orders, product descriptions, and/or numbers in the English language.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts associated with working in a warehouse, requiring heightened safety precautions typical of loading/receiving docks and high-volume inventory management operations. This includes the use of safe work practices with light to heavy equipment, forklifts, and pallet jacks, as well as avoidance of trips and falls and observance of fire regulations. Exposure to occasional fumes, odors, and/or temperature fluctuations (25 degrees to 105 degrees Fahrenheit) is possible.
The position requires physical exertion, including the ability to perform basic lifting and system tasks for all warehouse functions such as receiving, put away, picking, packing, cycle counting, order checking, and shipping. The work involves repetitively lifting cartons weighing 10 to 55 pounds, standing/walking for 6 to 12 hours a day, and climbing up and down stairs and ladders.
