About the Role
This role involves operating manual and/or Power Industrial equipment to complete processes such as receiving, picking, packing, stocking, or shipping of products. The primary goal is to move product safely while maximizing productivity. Detailed Standard Operating Procedures exist for tasks in Receiving, Order Pulling, Shipping, and Stocking.
Key attributes and tasks include: Breakdown, CasePuller, Cycle Counting, Ecom Full Service, Ecom Indirect, Happy Beauty Co. Key In, Loading, Put Away Reach, Put Away TSP, Put Away Man Up, Restocking, Returns, Special Projects, Unloader, Inventory Control, Cardboard, Quick Ship, and Batching.
Responsibilities
- Complete activities using RF Scanners or paper-based picking, which may require the use of powered industrial equipment to obtain and transfer products from various locations throughout the distribution center.
- Ship products, including weighing, loading, and stacking materials onto trucks using different types of equipment.
- Receive products from various vendors, involving unloading, stacking, and storage of product during and after the receiving process.
- Stock products/items, which may require obtaining and transferring products from various locations within the distribution center, including pick-up from receiving staging areas.
- Maintain a safe work environment by performing job functions safely, reporting potential hazards and property damage to leadership, and adhering to good housekeeping practices.
- Maintain productivity standards based on assigned tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested by leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience preferred in a distribution/warehouse environment or equivalent work experience, including operation of heavy equipment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the capability to adjust to change and interruptions.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Must become certified through the Sally Beauty Lift Truck Training Program to efficiently and safely operate a forklift within the time frame specified by leadership.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts typical of a warehouse, including safe work practices with light to heavy equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks), avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations. Exposure to occasional fumes, odors, and temperature fluctuations (25°F to 105°F) is possible.
- Requires physical exertion, including lifting cartons weighing 10 to 55 pounds repetitively.
- Standing/walking for 6 to 10 hours a day.
- Climbing up and down stairs and ladders.
- Performing tasks across all warehouse functions, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, cycle counting, order checking, and shipping.
