About the Role
Transport raw materials and finished product to and from the Rough Saw/Machining department to ensure uninterrupted product flow.
Responsibilities
- Offload finished product and transport to WIP racks.
- Offload Pressing panels to Rough Saw staging area (two rows, two deep for a total of eight).
- Check for debris (chunks or pieces of bottom board, loose veneer, etc.) on pressed bundles once the top board has been removed.
- Stage all required bundles from the Auto Distressing in the Review Area by 7:00 AM.
- Place packaging materials in appropriate locations.
- Locate material in shop floor system and place on line.
- Empty dumpsters and load baseboards for stacker.
- Help package pallets of wood product for shipment or storage.
- Prepare machining bundles with straps and fiber edge protectors before shipping (scrap does not require protectors).
- Follow specific instructions on each order and achieve set quality standards.
- Keep machines and work area clean and free of dust; dump broken pallets.
- Count and chip all half/full panels in Rough Saw area as needed.
- Pick up bolsters or strapping from the floor and place in designated locations; dispose of broken bolsters in dumpster.
- Keep lift trucks on charger during breaks and when not in use; ensure they are plugged in at end of shift.
- Remove all bundle top cover boards from Rough Saw infeed at end of shift.
- Stack materials only in designated areas, ensuring they are clear of walls and no boards/planks are leaned on fence.
- Ensure all materials processed in a line are issued to that line.
- For styles 0299W and 0300W:
- Move cart and pallet rack into position on the line when order starts and return to 5S staging location when completed.
- Inspect ½ bottom boards before setting on the line; remove any remaining planks prior to loading.
- Return empty pressing bottom boards to the Pressing Bottom Board squeezer at the infeed area of pressing.
- Perform other duties as requested by Lead or Supervisor.
Additional Duties
- Act as a team player and participate in committees.
- Cross-train for other jobs on rough saw/machining lines.
Physical Requirements
- Bend, squat, and stoop several times a day.
- Stand for 8–12 hours a day.
- Climb stairs several times throughout the day.
- Assist in lifting up to 75 lbs. several times a day.
- Lift 35–50 lbs. regularly throughout the day.
- Handle the stress of meeting goals and production requirements.
- Pass vision screening.
Requirements
- Basic reading, writing, and math ability.
- Ability to operate a lift truck after training.
- Capability to learn and perform additional operations.
- Capability to be trained on current computer systems and software.
- Complete all OSHA, SAFE, SMS, and plant-specific training.
- Certified Lift Truck Driver.
- Lockout/tagout Training (Authorized or Affected).

- Safety Glasses and PPE listed on JHA.
Safety & Security
- Comply with all OSHA, SAFE, and plant-specific safety rules and regulations.
- Refer to the Plant JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) for accident prevention.
Schedule
8-hour non-rotating shift, starting in the AM.
