Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Lift Truck Operator to support warehouse and production operations in a food manufacturing environment. Reporting to Warehouse Leadership, this position is responsible for safely operating forklifts to load, unload, transport, and stage materials, products, bins, and pallets throughout the facility. This role requires strong attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to safety, quality, and food safety standards.

Shift & Schedule

  • 1st Shift – 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
  • Must be open to overtime and weekends as required
  • Temporary / Contract position

Pay

$18.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely locate, pull, and transport full or empty bins, pallets of finished goods, packaging supplies, and equipment
  • Operate sit-down forklifts in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform daily forklift inspections and preventative maintenance checks
  • Transport raw and processed product to production workstations
  • Load outbound finished goods into semi-trailers (live and drop loads)
  • Receive truck deliveries and verify incoming materials against manifests
  • Use inventory scanners to log product in and out of warehouse locations
  • Pick orders using pick sheets and pre-stage orders for shipment
  • Shrink-wrap pallets to prepare them for shipping
  • Perform cycle counts to support inventory accuracy
  • Maintain inventory records and activity logs
  • Monitor packaging supplies and raw materials and report shortages
  • Perform goods sampling for Quality Holds as required
  • Complete annual certified forklift safety training
  • Follow all company SOPs, safety programs, and policies
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, quality, and environmental regulations
  • Participate in company committees such as the Safety Committee
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Demonstrate teamwork and assist with other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or state-issued equivalency required
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification within 30 days of hire
  • Minimum 1 year of sit-down forklift experience required
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced work environment required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
  • Basic math skills required
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules on a computer
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, overtime, and weekends as needed

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) preferred
  • Knowledge of Food Safety standards preferred
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure with competing demands

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach throughout the shift
  • Work safely in a warehouse and industrial environment
