First Line Production Supervisor (12hr rotating night shift)

About the role

This position is within Cargill’s specialized portfolio enterprise, serving diverse businesses that support unique customers or markets, including animal nutrition and health, bioindustrial, road safety salt, and Cargill joint ventures.

The First Line Production Supervisor provides strategic operational oversight for production facilities with moderate presence in multiple regions or complexity. You will oversee and hold facilities accountable for safety, quality, operational effectiveness, and financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Execute routine operations, ensuring direct reports follow policies and procedures related to employee, food, feed safety, and environmental compliance.
• Monitor production outcomes (quantity and quality) to ensure customer and food safety requirements are met.
• Partner with production supervisors to meet customer specifications and timelines.
• Administer production budget for a department, process, or shift; execute purchase orders and ensure timely payment of invoices.
• Develop operational plans and monitor routine operations for multiple departments, processes, and shifts.
• Develop, supervise, and coach direct reports on company core values and guiding principles.
• Make personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions for direct reports.
• Perform the same tasks as employees on your team as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or experience.
• Minimum one year of directly related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of supervisory experience.
• Experience with SAP and other system management software.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
